Two New Research Laboratories Opened at the Academy

We are pleased to announce the launch of two new research laboratories equipped with one-way observation mirrors at the Academy: the Child Research Laboratory and the Group Research Laboratory.

Both facilities are available to Academy staff and PhD students for conducting scientific research and enriching educational activities. They have been specifically designed to support qualitative research, diagnostic studies, and observational research projects, including Individual In-Depth Interviews (IDI) and Focus Group Interviews (FGI).

Child Research Laboratory

Located on the first floor of Building D (rooms 4122 and 4123), the Child Research Laboratory has been designed to facilitate research involving children aged 3 to 15 years. The facility includes:

• Four mobile, height-adjustable research stations
• A dedicated space for individual interviews
• Physiotherapy mats
• A flipchart
• Mobile storage units supporting flexible research arrangements

The laboratory currently offers audio monitoring and recording capabilities. In the near future, it will be equipped with a full audio-video recording system featuring two remotely controlled cameras and condenser microphones. Its observation room can accommodate up to 25 observers seated in tiered rows, ensuring comfortable and effective observation of research sessions.

Group Research Laboratory

Located on the second floor of Building D (rooms 4224 and 4225), the Group Research Laboratory has been designed to support focus groups and collaborative research activities. The facility features:

• A conference table for up to 10 participants
• A dedicated table for the moderator or researcher
• A television display
• A flipchart
• Mobile storage units allowing flexible room configurations

The modular conference table can be reconfigured into four individual workstations or smaller group work areas, enabling a variety of research and teaching formats. The laboratory is equipped with an audio monitoring and recording system based on condenser microphones, while the observation room can accommodate up to 14 observers.

These new facilities represent an important step in strengthening the Academy's research infrastructure and creating new opportunities for high-quality scientific research, collaboration, and innovative teaching.
