Dr Zsögön was also invited to participate in a roundtable organised by the Research Group on Decolonising Education, led by Prof. Danielle Bastos Lopes. Her presentation focused on the challenges of implementing legal frameworks and protecting human rights in the border regions of Latin America, highlighting the gap between international legal standards and local realities.

The ALAS Conference is the largest and most important sociological meeting in Latin America, bringing together thousands of researchers, academics, and students from across the region. The 2026 edition provided a platform for critical dialogue on the role of sociology as a rigorous, pluralistic, and socially engaged discipline, while fostering international academic collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Dr Zsögön's participation strengthens the international visibility of Maria Grzegorzewska University and the UNESCO Janusz Korczak Chair. It also contributes to expanding research cooperation between Poland and Latin America while promoting the University's research in the fields of migration, human rights, childhood studies, and social inequalities.
