Aktualizacja: 12-04-2024

From the end of September 2023 to February 2024, we implemented the project "Youth as Researchers" with second-grade students of Boleslaw Limanowski High School from Ukraine and Belarus.
The project, aimed at refugee youth aged 14-25, is coordinated by Penn State University doctoral student Jamison Malcolm. In Poland, the project is headed by Dr. Ewa Dabrowa in cooperation with Maria Czubak. Katarzyna Soszyńska and students Grażyna Braun, Marta Pawłowska and Hubert Wróblewski also supported the project.
Teams from Penn State University (Pennsylvania, USA), Leibniz University (Hannover, Germany), Galway University (Galway, Ireland) and Maria Grzegorzewska University (Warsaw, Poland) are participating in the project. In addition, the Ukrainian Youth Organization of St. Barnabas Church in London, England, is involved.
The project is based on the Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) program called "Youth as Researchers (YAR)." Under the program, youth carry out their own projects and direct all stages of research. The Youth As Researchers program was first developed by researchers from the University of Galway and Penn State University. It aims to build a sense of participation and involvement as well as research competences.
The results of the project were presented on March 22, 2024 at the conference "Supporting the social inclusion of children and young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities" and other scientific events.
