The goal of NAWA's Bekker Fellowship Program is to support the international mobility of doctoral students, researchers and academics in the pursuit of scientific excellence by providing them with opportunities for scientific development in foreign research and academic centers around the world.

The program is open to doctoral students and researchers representing all fields of science, and the host units can be scientific or academic centers around the world.

Mobility lasting from 3 to 24 months will allow them to stay in recognized scientific centers, establish long-term cooperation with them and carry out projects together with outstanding scientists from abroad. Younger scientists will also have the opportunity to carry out valuable postdoctoral internships, while doctoral students will be able to carry out part of their education.

The Program provides funding for a stipend covering both the scholar's living expenses associated with the scholar's stay in a foreign host center and a mobility allowance. The amount of the stipend may be increased if the scholar's spouse and minor children participate in the trip.
