Biography

  • PhD in humanities, social educator, a graduate of the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Warsaw University, scholarships awarded at: HU-Berlin, Carl von Ossietzky-Oldenburg, Indiana University-Bloomington; visiting professor at the Sorbonne University Nord, Paris; Managed a B2B service business at C-level for 5 years, managed an NGO for 8 years where she was involved in developing and implementing socio-pedagogical projects with youth.

    Since 2003 employed at the Maria Grzegorzewska University at the Chair of Social Pedagogy. Here, for the last several years, she has been focusing on comprehensive research on the processes of parental involvement and engagement in children's education, and the significance of family-school partnerships for building inclusive school environments and fortifying social and political participation.

    She specializes in qualitative methodology: grounded theory, discourse analysis, and school ethnography (in studies of school culture). She is a member of the following national organizations - the Polish Pedagogical Association, and the international - European Research Network about Parents in Education (ERNAPE), the Association of Social Pedagogy, Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Soziale Arbeit (DGSA), in which she co-founded the: "Elter(n)schaft und Familienarbeit" thread.

    She is the co-author and heads of the MA program: Social care and education, and school pedagogy, which revolves around action research.
