Biography

  • Academic career:

I obtained my master's degree in 1986 at Maria Grzegorzewska University (former Higher School of Special Education in Warsaw). After graduation, I cooperated with the Children's Audiological Center under the supervision of PhD Maria Góral. In 1992, this cooperation resulted in me joining the Warsaw Cochlear Implants Programme at the Cochlear Center Diagnostic, Treatment and Rehabilitation, transformed in 1996 into the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing, where since I’ve conducted speech diagnosis and rehabilitation for children, adolescents and adults with hearing impairment. I also graduated from Postgraduate Speech Therapy Study at the University of Warsaw. I obtained the title of a certified speech therapist in 1996. Since 2000, I’ve worked in the Department of Surdopedagogy at the Academy of Special Education. Work at IFPS and the research conducted there became the basis for the topic of the doctoral dissertation entitled "Hearing skills of deaf adults equipped with cochlear implants". I obtained the PhD in 2009. On May 29, 2012, I became an official title of a specialist in surdologopedics. On September 20, 2019, I was awarded with a Bronze Cross of Merit.
