Biography

  • Doctoral degree in the discipline of philosophy (Faculty of Philosophy, Jagiellonian University) and a postdoctoral degree in the discipline of pedagogy (Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences, APS).

    Since 2003, she has been employed at the Maria Grzegorzewska Academy of Special Education, in the Department of Educational Policy (under the direction of Prof. Andrzej Janowski and Prof. Janusz Gęsicki), and currently in the Department of Social Foundations of Educational Development (under the direction of Prof. Miroslaw J. Szymanski).

    Researcher of educational phenomena, especially the role of local government in the educational system, democratic educational institutions (school council, educational council), social (parental) interventions in the educational system (association schools in rural areas, quasi-schools, pro-LGBTQ activism in the field of education), grassroots processes of change in the school environment (study of a public elementary school in Radowo Male).

    Member of the Polish Research Network "Parents in Education" (ERNAPE-PL).

    Member of the School Pedagogy Team of KNP PAN.

    Vice-dean of the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences at APS from 2008-2012.

    Director of the Institute of Pedagogy at APS from 2019 to the present.
