Virtual Museum of Maria Grzegorzewska

20-09-2023

We are happy to announce that the Virtual Museum of Maria Grzegorzewska is now up and running! We encourage you to visit it and learn more about the life and activities of our Patroness.

The Virtual Museum of Maria Grzegorzewska was created to honour the University's Patron and consists of six elements:

  • About the Museum
  • Maria's Room. Virtual walk
  • The life and work of Maria Grzegorzewska. A walk through the timeline
  • Museum Collections
  • Oral history archive
  • Repository

The museum has been designed so that it can easily be visited using a computer or laptop, but also a smartphone.

A walk through "Maria Grzegorzewska's Room" takes place in a three-dimensional space. The visitor has the opportunity to follow the 'Timeline', illustrating the life and work of Maria Grzegorzewska, as well as the history of the University, continuing the mission and message of the University's Patroness, which she expressed in the words 'There is no disabled person, there is a human being'.

Knowledge about Maria Grzegorzewska and her contribution to the education of specialists in special education is enriched by interviews, which are available under the heading 'Oral history archive'. An interview with Maria Grzegorzewska (18 minutes) and five interviews with Maria Grzegorzewska's pupils (about 5 minutes each) are included there. All interviews are subtitled in Polish and English.
Documents from the 'Timeline' have been placed under the 'Virtual Walks Collection' heading. This allows the visitor to revisit the archival objects quickly.

Under the heading 'Repository' you will find digital documents related to Maria Grzegorzewska. The archives are arranged in five collections: Private Life, Scientific Life, Works, University, Photographs.

We invite you to visit our newly created Virtual Museum of Maria Grzegorzewska here.

The project Virtual Museum of Maria Grzegorzewska is realised on the basis of the Agreement no. SONP/SP/515607/2021 accepted for financing by the Minister within the framework of the programme 'Social Responsibility of Science'. Project funded by the Ministry of Education and Science.
