22-11-2022

APS became a partner in the "Activate the University for Climate Change" (ATTUNE) project, in accordance with SDG 4 (Quality Education).

We are happy to announce that the Maria Grzegorzewska University became a partner in the project KA220-HED - Cooperation partnerships in higher education with the number 2022-1-ES01-KA220-HED-000086351 Activate the University for Climate Change, co-funded by the European Commission.

Description and aim of the ATTUNE Project

The aim of the ATTUNE project is to enable members of the university community to move from knowledge to action and to contribute to the green transformation. Universities are key actors in creating a more sustainable world.

The project consists of two stages:

  1. individual reflection through a set of questionnaires and manuals on reducing the carbon footprint of everyday activities at universities,
  2. creation of teams whose task is to assess and propose actions aimed at reducing the carbon footprint.

As it is stated in the UNESCO Medium-Term Strategy for 2022-2029 „Access to reliable information about climate change and related environmental, ethical and social issues is essential for citizens to understand and respond to these challenges. This will be achieved by integrating environmental issues into education policies, curricula and teacher education (…)”.

Organization of the Project

The ATTUNE project is international and includes partners from Spain, Germany, Italy, as well as from Turkey.

Dr. Ewa Lewandowska is the project coordinator at APS.

The duration of the project is 26 months (from 1 October 2022 to 30 November 2024).

Total value of the project is 400,000 euros.

Congratulations! 🌱
