Academic Dialogue Across Cultures – Lecture and Workshop on Inclusion and Student Identity

Aktualizacja: 16-06-2025

On June 9, 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting distinguished guests from the United States. Students and faculty of the Institute of Education took part in an engaging event featuring speakers from Northeastern Illinois University (Chicago) and Pennsylvania State University.

Prof. Jolanta Jonak and Prof. George Tolczyk from Northeastern Illinois University delivered an inspiring lecture titled The Fine Line Between Difference and Disability, reflecting on how educational systems draw the line between individual variation and disability diagnoses.

Adrian Tolczyk, a student at Pennsylvania State University, led a thought-provoking workshop titled The Hidden Curriculum of Belonging: How Athletics and Fraternity Life Shape Student Identity and Engagement at a U.S. University. He offered a critical perspective on how collegiate sports and fraternity life influence student identity.

We are grateful for this enriching experience and look forward to future encounters rooted in openness and intercultural exchange.
