UNESCO Chair Medal Delivered at the Korczak Seminar in Geneva

UNESCO Janusz Korczak Chair in Social Pedagogy delivered the last UNESCO Chair Medal established for the 20th anniversary of the Chair by the Maria Grzegorzewska University Senate.

The Medal was granted to Doctor Roberta Ruggiero from CREAN Children's Rights European Academic Network for supporting the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals 4,5 and 10, and especially for promoting human rights and children’s rights in education. More about the medal here

The Medal was granted during the annual Korczak Seminar that took place at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Poland to the United Nations Office in Geneva.

His Excellency Mirosław Broiło, Minister Plenipotentiary, Head of Mission, delivered the opening speech at the seminar, followed by a Keynote address by Professor Ann Skelton from the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. Dr Roberta Ruggiero delivered the afternoon keynote of the day dedicated to Article 39 of the CRC.

Professor Anna Odrowaz-Coates co-organised the event in her capacity as the President of the International Janusz Korczak Association IKA.
